As baby apps go, this one takes the cake! Gwiggle from EdElder has been designed perfectly to make sure that we match each step with our baby as he progresses in his growth right from day one onwards. Just take a look at the fantastic features and you will know what I am talking about.
When we open up the app, we can see five different sections: Day 1, Dr. Gwiggle, Photo, Bubbles and Steps. Day 1 lets us record the baby’s details beginning with his name to horoscope sign. Dr. Gwiggle has a list of doctors that are looking after your baby. We can add up to five different doctors and fill in their contact information, as well as the date of the next appointment. This section also helps us keep track of our baby’s vaccinations. The basic types of vaccinations are already in the list, and we can add more according to our baby’s requirements.
Gwiggle lets us capture memories too. In the photo section, we can take pictures of our baby in the app itself, and then choose from among the beautiful frames given to store it. For things that may not be included in the other sections, we have the Bubbles section. Here we can add any ‘event’ or detail about our baby. We have to simply type in what we want, and it gets saved in the form of a bubble with the time and date.
The Steps section opens up to reveal five different things. The Tooth Fairy is a picture of a smiley representing our baby, and on each tooth we can write details like when it fell off. Whenever we do this about any tooth, that tooth is marked by a star.
The Growth Chart shows how our baby has been growing in terms of height and weight. The next tab is the Countdown Calendar, and here we can enter dates in anticipation of events in our baby’s life. The Firsts tab is self-explanatory, helping us record our baby’s milestones. The Family tab takes us to a picture of a pretty flower, and we can enter the names of our family members on each of the petals.
Gwiggle is a very comprehensive app in terms of essential features, and this makes it a winner among other baby books in the App Store. The graphics and details alone make it worth having, and it will add to the joys of seeing our baby grow up with. Here is to a beautiful childhood!
