The need for sharing internet connection is very much in demand these days. Most of us have devices, that provide the facility to be shared. Having a common connection can be achieved in different ways. Most often, we buy routers for sharing the internet connection in our laptop with other devices like an iPhone, Mobile phone, Laptop etc. But this can burn a hole in your pocket as routers are expensive.
What I’ve come up with is a free way to share your internet connection in windows 7 with other devices like iPhone, iPods, Mobile, Laptops etc. Now, further, it is elaborated how an internet connection is shared without the use of external hardware.

Using Connectify
- Install Connectify. Now,click on an icon named “ connectify “ in the system tray.
- Go to the settings section and type in the name of the WiFi Network and some random password.
- Now you could just pick the type of connection used to connect your laptop to the net. After that click on the Start Hotspot button. Now move to other laptops to which the connection is going to be shared.
- Go to ‘Network & Connections’ Then ‘Wireless Network Connection’ Then ‘Wifi Connection’. Click on “Refresh Network List “. and search for the nearby WiFi hotspots and in a while, a list of it appears before you.
- After finding the network you created, type in the password that was entered previously in the box click on “Connect “.
Finally, you’ll be able to share the internet connection with your laptop to other devices. Connectify runs on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, both in either 32 or 64 bits. Also you can save yourself the pain of installing Connectify installed in your laptop too for having access to a shared connection.
