HTC Desire S: Review

It has been a year of HTC mobiles, and HTC Desire S is one of them.  HTC Desire S is an Android smartphone, a 3.7-inch display with aluminum-shelled handset. The HTC Desire S has the same 1 GHZ Snapdragon processor, the same graphics, same WVGA resolution, and the same 768 MB RAM as the Incredible S.

Hardware Of HTC Desire S

It is obvious that the HTC Desire S is made by HTC’s aluminum unibody construction method and HTC is quite proud of it. While other manufacturers are also roaming around the same idea like Nokia with the aluminum-clad N8-by just using one piece of lightweight metal, which is wrapped around the phone’s internal components. On the Desire S you will also find some plastic-covered rear areas, which consists the 5 megapixel camera ,LED flash, and loudspeaker and other is fitted for the 1450 mAh battery and SIM and MicroSD card slots. We observed that the Desire S is five grams lighter than the original Desire, also it is 4mm shorter at a height of 115mm, and just slightly thinner and narrower also.

Moving further, HTC Desire S is very easy to operate. The 3.7-inch screen size will make you feel comfortable as it makes most thumbs to reach the top left corner and the Search capacitive button on the lower right of Desire S.

Inside HTC Desire S

Opening the great aluminum body the first thing you will find inside it will be a Qualcomm’s extremely popular MSM8255 system-on-chip, which is also a second generation Snapdragon. The chip has proved that it is highly capable of handling Android’s demands, which makes HTC’s Sense UI look airy.

Display Of HTC Desire S

The display of HTC Desire S is simply amazing. The display gives you more vibrant, well saturated images and with an excellent viewing angles. The only thing which bothered me was the readability in direct sunlight. Just like Incredible S, Gorilla Glass is also included in HTC Desire S as well. Another greatest difference between the HTC Desire S and Incredible S is in their camera sensors. We got to admit that the 8 megapixel imager on the Incredible S was way ahead of HTC Desire S’s 5 megapixel unit. the HTC Desire S’s camera can be considered great at 1 megapixel resolutions and merely okay at the full 5.
