Newly launched model of iMac has a standard support of i5 processors but it also support i7 processors. Having a speed 1.7 times faster with i5 and 17 Intel core processors-
- If you are choosing screen size of 21.5 inch then you have the option of choosing a processor having speed of 2.5 GHz.
- If you want to have a screen size of 27-inch then u can have a processor of 2.7 GHz or 3.1 GHz.
- You can also configure your IMAC with Intel core i7 processor.
• Since Mac OS X is already present here to take advantage of each core processors.
Higher version of turbo booster:
iMac is having Turbo Booster 2.0 which can automatically boost up the speed of the Intel core processors i.e up to 3.8GHz.
Faster single-chip micro-architecture:
The latest Intel Core single chip micro architecture puts the processor, memory controller, cache and graphics engine on this chip.
Integrated Memory Controller.

Now you can transfer data with lightening fast sped. Apple computers are first to use this type of technology. It has in total 20-Gbps data channels in each port that means you can transfer data up to 12 times faster than with FireWire 800.
If you are switching over to 27 inch IMAC then it includes a second Thunderbolt port for more stabilization.
