I remember the day when the world announced that a revolutionary product was coming to the market and this was the day when apple CEO Steve Jobs brought out the apple iPad. There was no other product in the market at that time which could be closer to iPad. The world welcomed the iPad with much fanfare and then almost one year after the release of iPad came its upgraded version- the iPad 2.
IPad 2 had many features and it was definitely better than its previous version. The iPad 2 was phenomenal, everybody wanted to own iPad 2 and soon the iPad with its obsolete and lesser features and configuration slowly faded away into oblivion. While iPad 2 was the more popular version but it wasn’t as if iPad hadn’t sold much units. In just one year it had sold so many units of it that there was a lag between the production and sales.
We compare the two products from apple and see which one is better, obviously iPad 2 is better but to compare its specifications is another thing. When you know that why iPad 2 became so popular then you will come to know what all were the features that were lacking in iPad.
Both the iPad and iPad 2 are Bluetooth 2.1 version enabled and there is no difference here but the difference comes when we talk about the Wi-Fi network. While iPad is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g enabled but iPad 2 is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n enabled. So here comes the difference and this means that the new iPad gives a higher option for internet connectivity and higher browsing speeds as well. The iPad 2 also has a HDMI port to connect to any HDTV and share HD video content directly to be viewed by all.
The major crippling that iPad suffered was that it did not have any camera at all but iPad 2 has a rear 3 MP camera and a front 0.3 MP camera. While both the models are 3G enabled but to take the advantage of video calling feature one needs to have a built in camera and this was actually provided by iPad 2. The iPad 2 camera also does video recording at 720p. Upgrade from 256 MB RAM in iPad to 512 MB RAM in iPad 2 was also another game changer. This called for higher processing speeds and better performance capabilities.
Other features like battery life and processor are the same and there is very minor difference in it.
