Tablets are the new laptops. All the premium brands were a bit late to present the Indian technology market with there tablets, but as soon they did they faced stiff competition. Surprisingly some of the tablets that were made in India from scratch, are equally well performing and above all great value for money. In some cases they are as cheap as half the price of there international counterparts.
Following is a list of 17 most popular tablets in India that the consumers have there eye on. Almost all the tablets enlisted can be bought individually or via a service provider. I hope i haven’t missed any.
Reliance communications recently launched a tablet along with a 3G support. It has been priced reasonably and will cost you just Rs 12,999. The tab has a 7 inch display and has been made by ZTE and is equipped with a capacitive touchscreen.
It is the first real competitor to the Apple iPad. Motorola Xoom has the latest version of Android Honeycomb. It has a brilliant 10.1 inches with resolution of 1280 x 800. Motorola Xoom is powered by a mighty 1 GHz Dual Core processor NVIDIA Tegra 2.

6. HTC Flyer
The leading Taiwanese handset manufacturer introduced their first ever tablet at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress this year. HTC Flyer is an Android 2.3 based tablet which has a good 7-inch Super LCD touch screen with an aluminum unibody design. It is powered with 1.5 GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon Processor.
The LG Optimus Pad marks a new entry into tablet space. The LG Optimus Pad is a huge tablet (8.9-inch display) with 3D recording and video capability features. The display of LG Optimus Pad has a 1280 x 768 WXGA resolution in widescreen. LG Optimus Pad is powered 1 GHz dual core NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 processor.
G’Five is a Chinese company which is all set to launch 7 inch and 10 inch tablets in the Indian market. The tablets will be Android powered tablets and will probably run on Android 2.2 Froyo.
Sakshat is India’s own indigenously developed tablet that runs of Android OS, and it can handle Android OS so easily even after been made at such low cost. In India this Sakshat Tablet will be sold for just Rs 2200.
Spice Mi-720 DroidPad is a new tablet launched by Spice Mobiles. Spice Mobiles is very popular in India for mobile phones but this first time in India that they are going to launch a Tablet. New Spice Mi-720 DroidPad is another Android2.3 Gingerbread tablet and will be available in the month of August this year.
11. Magic Tile Marathon 10.1” Tablet
This tablet is launched by a Bangalore based firm EFAT which is specifically focused for the Indian market. The following tablet is an average tablet and performs functions with its 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. It runs on Android version 2.2 Froyo.
12. BEL Tablet
Rumors are to be believed that Bharat Electricals Ltd has come out with a new tablet that has been designed especially for the Ministry of rural development . This tablet is designed to help the ministry with its survey regarding poverty and would cost around Rs 3000.
Beetel has launched an affordable Android tablet Beetel MagiQ BMQ 01 which has a 7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with Android 2.2 OS. The tablet is powered by a 1GHz processor and thus enables high speed processing and connectivity options like 3G HSDPA and Wireless LAN, it also supports EDGE and Wi-Fi connectivity features.
14. MSI Enjoy 7 & Enjoy 10 Tablets
It’s raining tablets in India and MSI are the latest competitor entered in the tablet war going on. Two tablets have been launched in India by MSI. The name of first tablet is Enjoy 7 and touted to be world’s lightest tablet. The other tablet is called Enjoy 10. Both tablets will run the Android 3.0 version.
15. Creative ZiiO Android 2.1 Tablet
This tablet was launched when the Galaxy Tab was making a huge impact around the globe. Creative ZiiO is an Android 2.1 tablet and is powered by a customized ZiiLABS ZMS-08 HD Media-Rich Applications processor.
16. Samsung Galaxy Tab 750 & 730
The recently announced Samsung tablets are none another than the renamed versions of Tab 10.2 and 8.9. The Galaxy Tab 750 is powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core processor and a brilliant 10.1 inch display. On the other hand, Galaxy 730 has same features as 750 apart from the screen size which is 8.9 inch.
