LG Optimus Sol Added to Optimus Range

The new addition to the range of the Optimus smartphones has been announced by LG Electronics. The handset has been dubbed as LG E730 or Optimus Sol. This latest addition will be powered by Google’s Android 2.3 that is the Gingerbread platform. It has all the features of the smartphones of the parent series along with an ultra AMOLED display.

Optimus Sol will have a 3.8 inch WVGA “Ultra-AMOLED” display that has twice the reflection rate as compared to the AMOLED screen and this reduces image distortion to a great extent. Also, Optimus Sol is powered with a 1 GHz processor and Flash 10.1. Besides this, the handset packs a 5 MP rear facing camera that is 9.8mm thick.

LG may also launch the dark UI with this handset. This interface utilizes less white light thus saving the battery by 20 to 30 percent. Optimus Sol will also have the wireless multimedia connectivity through DLNA and Wi-Fi Direct.

The handset will be made available for sale in Europe by mid-September followed by Central and South America. The phone will be available in three colours viz, black, white and titan. The phone will be released in South East Asia in the coming year. The price of the phone has not been divulged yet.
