An Android based tablet was recently rolled out in India by a small private company. Wondering what’s so great about it? Well, the tablet would cost you just $99. Isn’t that really cheap? That’s not all, as Lakshmi Access Communication Systems (LACS) has bigger plans. Thy are planning to bring out a whole range of budget versions of digital tablets to the Indian market and they plan to give competition to the emperors of all tablets, namely Apple’s iPad 2 as well as Samsung’s Galaxy tab 10.1.
This budget tablet has been dubbed Magnum Pepper Tablet PC and is backed by Google’s Android 2.2 operating system. It is packed with an 800 MHz processor and 256MB RAM. Magnum Pepper Tablet has a 7 inch LCD sensitive touch display. As of now, the display type has not been disclosed yet. The capacitive/resistive nature of the display is sure to affect the sales of the tablet.

Besides this, the basic version of the tablet will haveWi-Fi,RJ45 LANport, USB 2.0, MicroSD card support up to 32GB, 3G compatible dongle, 3.5mm jack, G-sensors, front camera and built-in 2GB of memory. I don’t think you can expect anything more for the price at which it is being sold.
Here is a comparison between the four major tablets that are been sold currently and you will get a clear picture of Magnum with respect to these tablets. This tablet will be directly giving competition to the Reliance 3G tablet as well as Beetel Teletech’s Magiq tablet. But its final success will be decided once it has been released in the market and used by customers.
