Sony Cybershot DSC – TX55 Price and Specification

Sony Cybershot DSC-TX55, the world’s thinnest camera at just 12.2 mm (0.5″) in thickness, is ready to be launched in India this September. In an era where smartphones and other mobile devices are pretty much dominant in casual photography, this camera is packed with features, good enough to prove that stand alone cameras have a lot more to offer as compared to any of these phones.

Sony Cybershot DSC-TX55 is equipped with a Carl Zesiss Vario – Tessa lens with a 16.2 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, coupled with a 5x optical zoom and ability to snap 3D images by taking two rapid- fire shots through a single lens, not a stereoscopic one.  With the touch of the shutter button, the dual Recorder takes 12 megapixel still images without disturbing the full 1080p HD video shooting. The Exmor sensor captures great low-light imagery, and can lock onto subjects in as little as a tenth of a second.

In addition to its ultra thin chassis design, this camera is a combination of incredible number of features and performance, enabling its users to be more creative, and letting them explore new possibilities in capturing the world in front of them, in digital format.

Sony Cybershot DSC-TX55 features a 3.3 inch touchscreen OLED viewfinder display with optical image stabilization, plus a new feature called as “Clear Image Zoom” technology that can crank the zoom feature up to a maximum of 10x with full resolution imagery via pixel by pixel processing.

This camera’s “Superior Auto” mode lets the camera handle the different shooting situations without any user adjustment required for that purpose; the camera’s intelligent panorama tools enable users to grab panoramic shots up to 42.9 megapixels. The TX55 supports Sony’s Memory Stick Pro media, along with microSD/SDHC cards for up to 16 GB of removable storage.
