Here comes Sony, again grabbing the techie gossips in the electronics market! After the significant success in the fields of television & projector, camera, mobile phone, computer & peripherals, game, tablets; now Sony has put one step ahead by launching digital binoculars- DEV-3 and DEV-5 on Friday.
Sony feels proud in announcing that DEV-3 and DEV-5 are the World’s first digital binoculars with many amazing features. Some of its features are inherited from its well established handycams and cameras.

Some of DEV-3 and DEV-5 specifications are as follows:
- HD video recording with 1080 HD videos in either 2D or 3D.
- Zoom.
- Has a camera lens of 7.1 megapixels to capture still images.
- Rechargeable battery pack.
- Steady shot image stabilization.
The rechargeable battery in these binoculars can deliver approximately 3 hrs of 2D recording on a single charge. The steady shot stabilization supports clear picture and stability even while viewing at high magnifications.

The two models DEV-3 and DEV-5 have almost identical features. The two binoculars differ in their zooming capability. DEV-3 has a zooming capability of 10X while DEV-5 is provided with 20x digital zoom. But the most bothering difference between the two is that DEV-5 has integrated GPS receiver which enables it to automatically geo-tag video and photos.
Both models are provided with a battery charger/adapter, A/V connecting cable and USB cable for PC connection. Although DEV-5 is present with additional accessories like a carrying case, neck strap, a lens cover, finder cap and large eye cups.
DEV-3 and DEV-5 will be available in stores by November with a tagged price of $1,400 for DEV-3 and $2,000 for DEV-5.
