
A new 7 inch Android tablet, dubbed CarPad has been launched by MapMyIndia. The tablet has been customized to be used inside a car. CarPad is powered by a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S1 processor has 3G connectivity and the latest 3D GPS navigated interface by MapMyIndia and the Android operating system.
CarPad is supposed to revolutionize the way people travel inIndia. The tablet offers navigation, entertainment, connectivity and productivity to all the passengers, be it in the back-seat or the front-seat. It will provide voice guidance to places with 3D landmarks, travel guides, house-level guides etc. Also, the tablet will be loaded with Aura, the latest navigation interface by MapMyIndia.
The CarPad is pre-intalled of all the maps and thus it is independent of the network. It streams images of nearby areas letting the driver know about friends in the vicinity. The tablet has been loaded with detailed maps of India including national level maps for 5,79,000 towns and villages, street level maps of 1200 cities and house level maps for 18 cities and 3D landmarks and building footprints of major cities.
Besides this CarPad can be used to make calls, message, mail or chat with anyone whenever you want. The tablet has 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. You can also listen to the radio and other music, watch movies and videos etc using the tablet.
CarPad has been priced at Rs.22,990 and comes with a headrest mount, windshield mount, CarPad holder and car charger. The tablet will be on sale from 15th September on theofficial site of MapMyIndia.
