Nokia, after being the most trusted brand for three consecutive years has lost its position and fallen to the fifth place. If you are wonder why did it take so long, with all the low cost Android devices that are now available? Well, what must be considered is that Nokia manufactures good quality devices which are quite affordable and they have a better built than their competitors’ products.
Well, it’s none of those competitors who have beaten the company; instead it is the toothpaste manufacturing company Colgate. Now comes the question, as to why did Nokia slip down to the fifth position. For one, the company was incredibly late to roll out dual-SIM phones in the country.
Also, these days the phones that have the maximum takers are not smartphones, they are instead mid-range phones that do almost everything that a smart phone does. Smaller companies such as Micromax, Lava, Spice etc have come up with such phones and they have been quite a success too, thus eating up market share as well. Also, people prefer to buy indigenous phones as compared to a foreign make.
