Upgrade Windows7 with HP Quick-launch Buttons

We have a 7-8 year old desktop back home. Although I use my HP Pavilion lappy ,I had been so accustomed to its Quick-launch Buttons, that I couldnt resist having them on my desktop too.

My Pc at home has been recently upgraded to Windows-7.This post will bring to you a few steps to now have my favourite HP’s Quick-launch Buttons on Win-7:

Step 1: Go to http://www.hp.com/#Product and on that black bar, click on support & drivers from the menu.

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

Step 2: Now you can see 2 radio buttons. From here, select Download drivers and software (and firmware) Now, enter the product number of your HP laptop or PC.Lets say it is dv6875se (If you don’t know where to look for it, it’s either under your laptop or the serial number sticker on your desktop). After entering the product number click on the Go button.

Step 3: In some cases HP will displays a list of laptops/desktops from here whichever matches, the one you have, to go to the driver page. In cases where you entered the exact product number it will take you straight to the drivers page. (Like mine was 584037 Dm61)

Step 4: In the available list of operating systems click on Microsoft Windows Vista for 32-bit Windows 7 or MicrosoftWindows Vista (64-bit) for for 64-bit Windows 7.

Step 5: Scroll down till you see Driver – Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices, in that list click on the link HP Quick Link Launch Buttons to download the drivers.

Step 6: Install the downloaded software and the quick launch buttons will become functional again.

I tested this on my own laptop, hope it works fine for you too!
