3D projectors are nothing new in the market these days. But these projectors are basically “3D capable” devices that need the support of a PC or a Blu-ray player to have the 3D experience. Well, Vivitek has taken a step ahead and launched their D5 series that has the ability to convert 2D into 3D without the need of any external support.
There are three models that are available for at present, they are the D512-3D, D536-3D and D538W-3D. They are priced at Rs.37,950, Rs.53,130 and Rs.57,684 respectively. These projectors have been reasonably priced keeping in mind their capability.
This series by Vivitek is based on the DLP technology of Texas instruments and they support a brightness level of up to 3200 lumens. The D% series has a good set of connectors such as HDMI, VGA, S-Video, and Composite as well as audio-in options.
Presently there is no information about the kind of the 3D (active or passive) that the projector supports, but it does support the conversion of both pictures and videos. The project is packed with 1W speakers. Also, it has not been mention until now whether the product will come along with a pair of 3D glasses or not.
