Vodafone has joined Facebook to roll out the Facebook Blue, a handset that is mainly designed for social networking and is also very reasonably priced at Rs. 4950. The handset offers unlimited access to Facebook for a whole year.
Vodafone Blue has a QWERTY keypad that would make it easier for the user to type out messages while accessing Facebook. Besides this, the phone has a 2.4 inch TFT display with the QVGA resolution and is powered by a 200 MHz MTK6235 processor. This is not a very good processor, but is passable keeping in mind the price at which the phone is available.
The phone has 40 MB internal memory but comes with a slot that supports upt0 16 GB external memory with the help of a microSD card. The handset also has a 2MP camera with integrated flash and a 3.5 mm jack for earphones. Vodafone Blue is quite light and is just 110mm in length, 61.1 mm in width and 12 mm in thickness.
Besides the FB feature the Vodafone Blue also has the Parlingo chat suite that supports all the major messengers such as Google talk, iChat, AIM etc.
Vodafone Blue will be available across the country and the company also has plans to upgrade the handset later by adding certain regional languages to it.
