HTC is a well known name in India when it comes to high end and expensive android phones. HTC recently introduced HTC Rhyme. Rhyme is unique because it’s for women (which HTC strongly denies). The rhyme does not participate in the fight over big processors, larger RAMs, massive screen sizes or higher megapixel camera resolutions. HTC, with Rhyme have made sure that there aren’t any compromises made in case of the overall cellphone experience.

HTC Rhyme is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor (single core) and has a 768MB RAM to support. A 5MP camera with flash works extremely well, which is accompanied by a front facing VGA camera. Rhyme records videos at 720p HD. It has 4GB of internal memory out of which 1GB can be used for storage. The storage space is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. 8GB microSD card is included with the phone. When compared to other high end phones, HTC Rhyme has a smaller 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen to that of 4.0-inch screen of HTC Incredible S and 4.3-inch touchscreen of the Samsung Galaxy S2.

HTC Rhyme houses the latest HTC Sense 3.5 interface and runs on Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread). The 1GHz processor does justice and doesn’t make the experience look analog and also works well while multitasking.

Other notable things that must be mentioned when talking of the HTC Rhyme are the accessories associated with it. You get a pulsating led locket which you need to attach to the 3.5 mm universal headphone jack. You need to roll it around a strap on your purse or bag. What it does is that it blinks for 5 minutes when you get a call from someone which you may not notice if your phone is buried somewhere inside your purse. The downside with this accessory is that the led light is not effective during bright daylight and hence you may end up not noticing it too.

The earphones that you get with the HTC Rhyme are really a disappointment and are hopeless when listening to music.

You get a charging dock which is the most sensible out of the three accessories. It lets you position the phone in such a way that you can watch movies and lengthy videos and also can be used as a make shift alarm clock.

Another important thing to note about the HTC Rhyme is that its battery (1600 mAh) backup is great, thanks to the smaller screen and less powerful single core processor.

Beetel introduced in the market earlier a tablet called ‘Beetel Magiq’, available at an affordable price of Rs 9000/- but its features were not so attractive and were not appreciated by tech critics. This turned out to be a massive disappointment for Beetel. Beetel, now learning from its mistakes has introduced another Tablet for the Indian customers. This Tablet is almost identical to its previous tablet Magiq and is considered to be its sibling with a new name ‘Beetel Magiq Glide’. This Tablet is enhanced, and has all the features that were not available in Beetel Magiq and hence Beetel Magiq Glide sure is considered better. The most striking features of Beetel Magiq Glide are its 7 inch display, 1 GHz Qualcomm processor and Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. With all this features and a price Rs/- 10000 is even more attractive.

As said by the Mr. Vinod Sawhny – Executive Director & CEO, Beetel Teletech “The Magiq Glide is the latest addition to our successful Magiq range of tablets, which has been highly appreciated by the Indian consumers. After an extensive market-research and keeping in mind the feedback received from our customers on our previous products we have come up with the Magiq Glide. The new tablet has all the features available in our previous products, which our customers liked and additionally we have added a capacitive touch screen to enrich the touch experience.” What we can anticipate and expect from his saying is Beetel Magic Glide is sure going to provide its users the experience they found lacking in Beetel Magic.

Beetel Magiq Glide has a fascinating look that is available in shades of bronze and chrome that will sure make users feel away from the monotonous black/grey color scheme in tablets. It has a back stand that increases its vitality during video playback and video chats. Beetel Magiq Glide has a slightly larger screen than the usual size screen so; it also appears a lot better than other tablets. The best feature about its display is its screen ratio of 16:9 which is found in most other tablets.

Beetel Magiq Glide houses calls connect and disconnect buttons on the right-hand side and all of the android dedicated buttons on the left hand side. This tablet is included with non-touch sensitive buttons that look quite fancy but, they actually work, and need to be pressed hard to use them, this makes it difficult for a new user to use Beetel Magic Glide.

The screen resolution of Beetel Magic Glide is 800×600, which is usable, only for fundamental work and its display is not refined and lacks features to compete with other tablets in the market. This tablet is played using a graphics engine thus there is no visible video lag to notice but is not convincing enough for playing games. Beetel Magiq Glide has capacitive touch but, it lacks an essential feature of multi-touch so, you cannot zoom by just -drawing gestures on the screen. Also, this tablet is provided with a track-pad that is not actually usable with the capacitive screen but is highly usable when the screen fails to respond.

Beetel Magiq Glide has a hard plastic body that is extremely tough but its 7” screen does not look as it can survive the fall. Also, it has a metallic battery cover that adds up the appeal to this device. Beetel Magiq Glide features a 768 MHz processor with integrated display processor of 568 MHz, 600 MHz is the minimum required processor to operate a device so, you can sure run applications on this device but, better is to not to expect this tablet to do wonders. Beetel Magiq Glide tablet inhibits in itself 512 MB of RAM so; you can sure use applications in an efficient manner. For data connectivity, this device uses Wi-Fi and cellular data, or a SIM card. With the availability of Wi-Fi it sure works the best in data connectivity. There are two camera’s available in Beetel Magiq Glide, one in the front for making video calls and for capturing images in VGA Resolution and one at the back so, you can capture images and make videos. The camera works well in places well-lit and does not works well in dim-lighted areas. Also, the inbuilt speakers in it are doing their job quite well, and there is also an integral mic for making video calls and so there is no need to use hands-free equipment every time you need to make a call.

Beetel Magiq Glide’s lacks a good battery, which is truly saddening; its 2200 mAh battery does not give it sound power for a long duration. Its battery can back up to 3 hours and cannot stand any longer, whereas takes a whole lot of 4 hours to charge fully, you can also use the USB PC connectivity to charge the Beetel Magiq Glide tablet but, it still takes almost the same time.

We could sure say that Beetel Magiq Glide sure lacks too many features that are actually a necessity in tablets for instance lack of multi touch and it’s to low battery power. It is also quite heavy with a weight of about 500 grams whereas other tablet available in the market are of the same weight and provide a much bigger screen of 10” and provide excellent battery backup. Although if you are not willing to spend a whole lot of money on your tablet then you could sure buy Beetel Magiq Glide tablet but remember to keep your charger with you at all times, you sure will need it now and then.

Indian economy is a fore runner in the developing nation class. And there is no doubt that India has one of the biggest mobile consumer base in the world. But now citizens of India have decided to take it to the next level. Now they have started to buy Smartphones. People today are not afraid of spending money on brand new gadgets. And there are facts to support it.

According to a research conducted by International Data Corporation, the growth in sales figures of Smartphones in India would be five times faster than the growth in total cellphone sales figures in recent future. 47 Million cellphones were sold in the 3rd quarter of 2011, which indicates a 13.8 % rise from last year sales figures for the same quarter. Here Dual Sim phones played a major role.

According to another report, Smartphones have 6.5% share in the total cellphone market in India. The rise in smartphone market in the 3rd quarter of 2011 is 21.4% with respect to the results of the 1st quarter of the same year which seems alarming. Nokia again lead the pack all the way with 31.8% share in featured phone sales and 31.8% share in Smartphone sales in the third quarter.

The total of 184.4 Million handset shipment would take place in the year 2011. It’s been predicted that by the year 2015 the cellphone market would reach up to 300 Million units. Similarly we can expect a 78 million unit market for smartphones in 2015.

Nokia 1616 is another milestone in the same cause of providing the consumers best services in the most cost effective way. This phone is available in market on 2G network using bandwidth of GSM 900/1800, and GSM 850/1900 for American version.

Nokia Asha 300 touch and type is a phone that belongs to the array of phones which Nokia has launched to stabilize and regain its long lost position of the most trusted Brand in India recently. More phones which can be seen as a part of Nokia’s second innings in India are Nokia 700, Nokia 701, Nokia 500 and Nokia C Series dual sim phones.

Nokia saw a huge loss in market share in a last couple of years. There were mainly two reasons for this loss. First, local phone companies started to do well by introducing phones that were outrageously cheap and were full of features. The likes of Micromax mobile, Lemon Mobile, Spice Mobile are still competent and are now introducing promising smartphone handsets for as low as 5000/- rupees. When all this started a few years back, Nokia didn’t act accordingly and lack of dual sim handsets at that time in its stable hurt the sales most. As due to stiff competition in the telecom sector the call rates got cheaper and cheaper and it was no longer a luxury to have two different cellphone numbers. That was when people needed dual sim phones which Nokia couldn’t offer.

Secondly, there was Android. This new operating system became the first choice when it came to, buying a smartphone. Symbian platform couldn’t compete with the versatile Android and thus we saw Samsung rising to the top when it came to smartphone sales. Apple iPhones were still far off the reach of a common man in India.

Well, Speaking of the Nokia Asha 300 phone is touch and type and is on similar lines of that of the Nokia X3-02. Both the phones the Nokia Asha 300 and Nokia X3-02 have the following similarities:

Both are Touch and Type.

Same Screen Size, Display Features and User interface.

Same OS Platform (Symbian S40).

Same Camera (5 Megapixel).

Both are 3G.

Both have Wi-Fi.

Following are the major differences between both Nokia Asha 300 and Nokia X3-02:

Nokia Asha 300 has a 1Ghz processor.

Nokia Asha 300 has 140MB internal memory, 256 MB ROM, 128 MB RAM, instead Nokia X3-02 has 50 MB internal memory.

Nokia Asha 300 has a 1110 mAh Battery and Nokia X3-02 has a 860 mAh Battery.

Nokia Asha 300 has a better 30 fps camera video frame rate to that of 18 fps of Nokia X3-02.

I really find the Nokia Asha 300 touch and type a promising phone. Its 5 megapixel camera with flash is impressive and it has all the connectivity in the world but on the other hand lacks opera mini browser.

Key Features of Nokia Asha 300:

1Ghz processor.

5 megapixel camera with flash.

Symbian S40 operating system.

Touch and type user interface.

3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Apple announced the death of its ex chief exec and co founder Steve Jobs, he was 56. He was suffering from pancreatic cancer since 2004.

The company stated:

“Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being”.

“Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”

U.S. President paid his tribute:

“Michelle and I are saddened to learn of the passing of Steve Jobs. Steve was among the greatest of American innovators – brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it.”

Microsoft chief Bill Gates stated that Jobs’ “profound impact” would” be felt for many generations to come” and ”For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honour. I will miss Steve immensely.”

He was the most inspiring, radical and influential business leader world has seen. He got passed the stereotype barriers and pushed the technological benchmarks to new levels.

“Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.”

Recently a report suggested that Nokia has lost its ground as the leading smartphone manufacturer and has slipped down to 3rd position, behind Apple and Samsung. But a recent announcement has brought hopes back for Nokia. According to TheUnwired, Nokia is going to launch its first Windows 7 based phone codenamed ‘Sea Ray’ on 17th August at the GamesCom in Cologne, Germany.

The event on 17th however, has been stated as a Windows and Nokia party, but we are confident and want to see the Windows-Nokia collaboration take shape. The For a long time now, Nokia was unable to provide any competition to mainly the iPhone and other android based cellphones, thus directly affecting its smartphone sales.

To counter this issue, Windows and Nokia joined hands. This was mainly done to catch up with iOS and Android based products. It’s more of a ‘do or die’ situation for Nokia now, they should hit the right spot with their windows 7 based smartphones as its market share is already getting decreased at an alarming rate.

We all are very well aware of fake items from China. They have ended up making a fake duplicate of almost every electronic gadget, electrical appliances, fashion accessory and many other household commodities like CFL bulbs, torches, batteries, toys, and of course cellphones.

We recently updated you when a fake ipad for $93 surfaced 2 weeks back, but the guys in China now have gone a bit too far, they have now ended up running fake Apple stores. And they have done it all right, everything is immaculately copied from, floors to advertisement banners, employee uniforms to furniture, everything is a copy paste. Have a look at some amazing Apple stores around the world.

Check out the pictures of the rip off store below:

As per a recent update from Reuters, five of such fake apple stores are being ordered to shut down by the city officials. But surprisingly the bases of this shutdown is not that they are fake Apple stores or are under piracy or copyright scanner but that all these stores do not have an official permit.
