The Samsung Galaxy S Advance is the latest addition to the Samsung smartphone lineup. It’s a phone that will be noticed as it has a 4 inch multi touch display and runs on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread. A Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU runs the show; a 768 MB RAM and 2 GB ROM also work along. It has a 5 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash which is also responsible for recording videos at 720p@30fps. The Samsung Galaxy S Advance does have a 1.3 MP secondary camera.

This phone is nothing less than what you expect from a smartphone with a decent configuration. Some other notable features of the Samsung Galaxy S Advance are, wi-fi, micro usb, expandable memory up to 32 GB via micro SD card, GPS, 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery that gives a stand by time of up to 570 hrs (2G) and up to 550 hrs (3G), also Talk time of up to 15 h (2G) and up to 7 h 20 min (3G).

We just went through some key features of the Samsung Galaxy S Advance. The figures suggest that it falls short of the configuration of a Samsung Galaxy S 2 by very small margin. Please have a look at a small comparison below:

Key Features of Samsung Galaxy S Advance:

Screen Size: 4.0 inches
CPU: Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9
RAM: 768 MB
Primary Camera: 5 MP
Video: 720p@30fps
Secondary Camera: 1.3 MP

Key Features of Samsung Galaxy S 2:

Screen Size: 4.3 inches
CPU: Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9
RAM: 1 GB
Primary Camera: 8 MP
Video: 1080p@30fps
Secondary Camera: 2.0 MP

You can easily compare the above configuration and can infer that the Samsung Galaxy S2 is better in almost every way. So why buy the Samsung Galaxy S Advance? Today you can easily get the Samsung Galaxy S 2 for 26000/- Rupees in almost every part of India and the price for the newly released Samsung Galaxy S Advance is almost the same. But then if you still want to buy the Samsung Galaxy S Advance, then I would suggest you to wait for a few months and lets the prices go down, at least wait till it gets cheaper than the Galaxy S2.

The Nokia 110 is the latest addition to Nokia’s affordable product lineup. Nokia with the Nokia 110 has tried hard to squeeze in as many features as possible in this handset. A lot is at stake as Nokia is facing stiff competition from its rivals and thus is trying hard to coupe up. The Nokia 110 is one of those phones that could reestablish Nokia in the affordable phone genre.

The Nokia 110 has dedicated social media icons on homescreen to let you access Facebook and twitter with ease. Another characteristic that attracts is that Nokia with Nokia 110 offers 40 exclusive games from EA that can be downloaded from Nokia Store.
Nokia 110 is a Dual SIM phone and the SIM cards can be swapped without the need of switching off the phone. It has Bluetooth, FM Radio, a media player that plays audio and video as well; has a 3.5 mm audio jack. Nokia 110 houses an internal memory of 10 MB that can be extended via a microSD card of up 32 GB. Standby and talk time are impressive at 26.5 days and 10.5 hours respectively.

Talking about the Nokia 110 price, it will be sold for 35 Euros or 2400 Indian rupees. But for the same price there still are better phones offered by Samsung and Micromax.

We all know that the motto of Nokia is “Connecting People” and Nokia has done a brilliant job with it this time. Nokia has introduced two new handsets- Nokia Asha 202 and 203. Nokia Asha 202 and 203 are low-end handset which comes with Nokia’s Series-40. Nokia Asha 202 and 203 are very much identical except for one thing- Asha 202 is a dual-SIM handset and Asha 203 supports one SIM card.

Nokia Asha 202 and 203 comes with a candy bar form factor. It also has the T9 keypad. Nokia Asha 202 and 203 features 2.4-inch QVGA resistive touchscreen. You will get the feeling of the touchscreen being resistive and in a matter of time you will get used to it.

The looks of Nokia Asha 202 and 203 are very interesting as at first glance it will look as if both handsets has metal rim up front but in reality it’s just a look and is all plastic. If you concentrate on the design of Asha 202 and 203 it will remind you of Nokia 101 because of the diagonal cuts on the sides and where the back covers fits in. Nokia Asha 202 and 203 comes with the choice of four colors- Dark red, black, silver white and dark grey.

Nokia Asha 202 and 203 has Series 40 and it includes a number of games and applications, even titles from EA. The only concern here for us was the smaller screen while gameplay so you have to bear with it. Nokia Asha 202 and 203 comes with a basic 2-megapixel fixed-focus camera but captures poor videos.

We haven’t got much for you with these handsets so we will have to wait till it comes out in the market so wait for next update for Asha 202 and 203.

41 megapixels!! It can’t be true. I am afraid to say that yes it is true. Nokia 808 PureView was first seen at MWC 2012 and indeed it caught a lot of attention. Nokia 808 is considered to be a successor of Nokia N8- the N8 which set the new benchmark for camera phones when it was launched. The largest mobile manufacturer weren’t satisfied with this at all so Nokia came up with a new handset which features not 12, not 18, but massive 41 megapixel camera. At first it sounded wicked to us but yes Nokia has made it possible. Nokia 808 PureView also sits at the top of the Nokia Symbian range.

The design of Nokia 808 PureView is spectacular. The build quality is awesome as it has a rubberized finish with a choice of colors. The rubberized finish makes it look like a rugged handset. The rubber finish also holds the key for the comfortable grip and it fits reasonably comfortably in the hand. Nokia 808 PureView can’t be considered as a slim phone so if you are looking for a slim model phone then Nokia 808 PureView isn’t your man. Nokia 808 PureView features a large 4-inch AMOLED display which supports 360 x 640 pixels resolution. Despite the relatively low resolution, the display looks cool and the touch sensitivity makes it look cooler.

Nokia 808 PureView is loaded with a massive 41 megapixel camera. This type of camera hasn’t been seen on a phone ever so Nokia teamed up with Carl Zeiss and produced Nokia’s pixel over-sampling technology, which is specially designed to produce sharp pictures. The pictures will be sharp even in low light conditions and it also will have the ability to save the images in compact file sizes when it comes to sharing. Though the high megapixel number doesn’t mean it will deliver equal good picture quality so we have to wait to test it further more and see that whether it is a huge improvement after the N8.

Now if we talk about the features of Nokia 808 PureView it offers Dolby headphone technology, Nokia Rich Recording Mic tech for capturing sound. We weren’t able to test other features as the demand at MWC for 808 was huge. We will further notice you on this one in the future.

On the performance basis Nokia 808 PureView is packed with a 1.3 GHz processor and the UI operates swiftly. We found camera booting quite irritating as it takes couple of seconds to boot-up and could be a small flaw if the consumers successfully observe it.

Everyone in the States dream of having the T-Mobile version of Samsung Galaxy S II but the hefty price tag crushes their dream. So, you must be wondering of having a classy handset with the dreamy specs of S II but also being less expensive. Your worries are over as you can get all these in one handset i.e- Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G. In the specs department, it is similar and has maintained a more compact figure. So, let’s find out what’s more in this.

Design

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G’s design is usual as other Samsung handsets and the ingredients are familiar- all plastic and lightweight. If you observe it closely it looks similar to the BlackBerry Torch 9860 probably because of its curves. Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G carries usual four capacitive Android buttons and are positioned close to one and another at the bottom. Sometimes these buttons might irritate you for getting accidentally pressed all the times. The front facing camera lies above the display which is capable of taking 1280 x 960 pixel resolution self-portraits.

The volume control is on the one side of Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G with a dedicated camera button and a 3.5mm headset jack, microUSB port, microphones and spring loaded microSD slot on the other side of Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G.

Display

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G features a 4-inch super WVGA AMOLED display which supports 480 x 900 pixel resolution. We were delighted with the saturated colors of the display it delivered and also maintained the clarity- thanks to the wide viewing angles. Despite employing a PenTile matrix arrangement, it’s sharp enough to visibly see fine text with relatively few issues.

Interface

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G runs on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread which is most up-to-date and gives good TouchWiz UI experience. The level of personalization is awesome but only one thing concerned us and that was the static wallpapers are no longer scrollable. The on-screen keyboard was a challenge as its layout is less spacious.

Processor And Memory

Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor with 1 GB of RAM. The processor delivers a consistent performance with all actions. Scrolling is comfortable and the opening of apps is easy as it never got hanged. In terms of memory, Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G supports a 4 GB microSD card, 1.4 GB internal, and another 1 GB strictly for apps.

In the end, all we can say that good things come in small packages and this handset will always impress you in many ways.

Motorola Motoluxe was first seen in the recent CES 2012 and gave us an impression of being a mid-range Android smartphone. After observing it we walked away with some positive impression and we found this handset quite amazing.

In terms of design, Motorola Motoluxe is a winner and it is indeed a nice-looking phone. The design of Motorola Motoluxe will remind you of Motorola Defy but this handset is not rugged. It will also remind you of Motorola Milestone because of its solid metal plate at the back and its external speaker. Motorola Motoluxe is very comfortable while holding and the grip is superb- thanks to the rubber finish. Now here comes the best part in the handset- Notification Light. The notification light lies at the bottom left corner and lights up various colors to display the status of the phone. It will show you the charging status or will let you know if there is a missed call or message waiting.

The buttons are placed very well. The standby button sits on the top with the 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right hand side you will find the volume rocker and a dedicated camera button. Micro-USB port is on the left hand side.

Motorola Motoluxe features a 4-inch display which gives the resolution of 854 x 480 pixels with 224 ppi pixel density. Motorola Motoluxe has an 8 megapixel shooter around the back but we found it less exciting. The camera is launched with a long press on the camera button and it will also let you focus and grab the shot. Front-facing camera is for the video chat or self-portraits. Motorola Motoluxe is also packed with an 800 MHz processor with 512 MB RAM and has an internal memory of 300 MB.

Motorola Motoluxe has a very good quality of calling as we found no problem making or receiving calls. The battery of Motorola Motoluxe is also a positive point. It works through an average day and you won’t have to worry about the losing power as the day progresses.

The first RAZR was launched in 2004 and by then it has come a long way. As it came first as a flip-phone, and now it has been upgraded in every way. The new Motorola RAZR XT910 is an Android phone which is not a flip phone but looks like a tablet. Motorola RAZR XT910 is probably the thinnest phone around because it is 7.1 mm thick and is wider at the top.

Motorola RAZR XT910 features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED advanced qHD display which supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution. Motorola RAZR XT910 also has Gorilla Glass and everything on display is clearly visible under sunlight. The proximity and ambient light sensors can be found of the left hand side at top along with the front facing camera on the right. Motorola RAZR XT910 has capacitive buttons- menu, home, back, and search. With a shiny silver button the lock / unlock button is on the left hand side and volume rocker is on right. The most disappointing part in this handset is the unavailability of camera button. The 3.5 mm audio jack, Micro USB and the HDMI out is on the top. Motorola RAZR XT910 is packed with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.

Motorola RAZR XT910 runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and works nicely and we were highly impressed with its UI. Motorola RAZR XT910 also features 8 megapixels auto focus camera which is quite good. It has a macro made which works well and night shots with LED flash also goes well. Users will be able to access the camera quickly form the locks screen just by swiping it from left to right. The camera also has widescreen mode that captures images at 6 megapixels resolution and you will be able to switch it off to take the normal shots at 8 megapixels resolution in 4:3 ratio. Motorola RAZR XT910 also has camera features like- Panorama, multi-shot and timer mode. You can access the front camera with a switch button on the right and capture it with the button given below it. Though there still lays a problem with the camera which is whenever you capture pictures in low-light surroundings, it produces grainy results and this is with the video shots too.

You will be able to do full HD video recording with image stabilization which is for the shaky hands. The camera will focus before the recording begins but after that there is no automatic focus. The videos will be recorded in MP4 format and we were satisfied with the quality of the video we recorded.

The battery of Motorola RAZR XT910 seems nice and has done a good job at keeping the device alive. Motorola RAZR XT910 has a 1780 mAh Li-Ion battery and last for 6 hours 40 minutes if it’s under heavy usage but if used wisely it could be used for over a day.

Pros

Good built quality.

Good camera.

Nice battery.

Cons

No dedicated camera key.

Non-replaceable battery.
