The process is being put to use in the automotive industry as it helps engineers to come up with a specific part from scratch and then help to see how it can be inserted in a car (can also be termed as 3D printing). Bradley Hasemeyer the host of Translogic reached Michigan and paid a visit to the Warren Tech Centre of General Motors. The host got a chance to get up close nad personal with the process of rapid prototyping. A few years back when I didn’t knew how the whole Internet worked; I really wondered what Google was up to. Providing a free search engine to almost the whole world, maintaining larger than life infrastructures for the same in the form of servers and above all the energy they consume must be staggering, this all must require a heavy sum of money to run. And Google managed it in the first place.

Then a few years, I got into blogging and slowly started to learn all the dynamics of how the internet works and how everyone gets paid. I came across an infographic representation that was based on the research carried by guys at Work Stream.

This article is for all those like me who have a job that makes them sit for long hours either working away on their computer, some kind of clerical job or a job that doesn’t involves much roaming around. The importance of physical activity is known by all but alas applied by few. And this could actually mean the difference between life and death.

Yes, that’s correct. Sitting for long hours could in fact kill you. Human body is designed in a manner by nature with which we are able to run on two feet unlike other animals, jump, grab and hold and not to mention the all important brain. Earlier human beings had to earn their food from the jungle but today’s man needs to work in the office to earn his living and here comes the difference. Having a job that requires some amount of physical activity could be tiring at the end of the day but is very much beneficial for you. Research shows that sitting for some hours drastically reduces the bodily functions and the metabolism drops automatically. It is always recommended that the people who sit for long hours and work or watch TV need to give their body some rest by actually standing up and strolling around for some time. We know all this and don’t need to be told these things at all and we are all aware sinners. Now that I know what I had been doing all these years, so I need to take care of myself and go for a small stroll around the office. Hope that my boss doesn’t have any objections.

A Wooden Excavator to Beautify Your Showcase

Excavators that are brought in raze buildings that have been constructed on illegal sites are common. The complete iron framework of the machine makes it look monstrous and threatening. But here’s an excavator that will surely blow your mind (instead of your house).

It is a model of the Caterpillar 5230B Front shovel that has been designed in Rob Fisher’s Woodchuck & Co art studio. The model took around 3000 man hours to complete and it is just 1/16th of the original machine. Around 4000 parts had to be assembled to complete it and make a semi-functioning excavator. This doesn’t mean that the model can raze buildings that have been constructed illegally. After all it is of the dimensions 1,5ft x 2.1ft x 1.5ft, a tiny model of the original 24.6ft x 33.8ft x 24 ft excavator that weighed around 72000 pounds. Also the model is made in hardwood and not metal.

But the cylinders of the machine are extendable, the jaws open, the tracks roll and a secret storage compartment is also present.

The model is priced at $39500, which may sound as extortion, but then who said that art has ever been reasonably priced.

Google+ vs Facebook – Funny Images

Now this is something that will make you laugh your head out. Facebook and Google+ are in a bitter war and the enmity seems to be ensuing even more as more people are looking for an opportunity to join the newly launched Google+. I was amazed to see how my friends and colleagues were after me when I accidently got a Google+ account. They had selected me for joining their network and the people whom I had by mistake told that I was on Google+ would rip me off if I didn’t send them an invite. Such was the craze for it.

And then, one fine day Facebook releases the video calling feature. Then there was news that they had changed the chat interface and group chat for users. The three new features were greatly lauded by my friends and there were praises for Facebook. The next day when they heard that Google+ was going to open the gates for all, they were going nuts for Google+ again. So this yo-yoing between the two social networks is another thing to watch out for.

Here in this article, I have included some very funny and comic images, cartoons and some gif images as well to depict the ongoing war between the two. People had enough of Facebook, they want something new. Google+ is going the same way and will probably do the same what Facebook did to Orkut.

Teens Prefer Texting to Calling [Infographic]

Have you ever noticed that QWERTY phones are always in great demand as far as teens are considered? Well, yes and to guess the reason behind this, you don’t need to be nerdy rocket scientist at all. Simple common sense and general observation says that the present generation texts a lot and sending messages through phones seems to be the most widely popular form of communication among teens.

If you might have noticed, there used to be time when we would see youngsters spending many hours in phone talking. But as time is passing by, we can see a shift in the pattern. According to a survey on young people aged between 13 and 21, it was found that a whopping 71% preferred texting to calling. Now, there are solid reasons to support the new developments in the technology world. Calling is always more expensive and teenage is a time when most of them are looking for cheaper alternatives to go with and sending text messages comes to them as the obvious answer.

Secondly, sending text messages are always more convenient than placing a call to someone. It is also faster than calling. What came as a surprise was that girls on an average sent 100 texts per day as compared to boys who were happy with 30 text messages sent per day. It seems that girls have the same habit of gossiping and talking in real life reflected onto their life on the phones.

Teens also go for the plans that facilitate more texting rather than a calling plan that limits their texting. The infographic displayed here is for the age group of 13 to 21 but the same also applies to younger persons like 10, 11 and 12 year olds who have mobile phones. The upper age group also can be extended up to 25 years of age.
